Help choose our next project
We are looking for your help in choosing another mountain path to be the focus of our next project. We are specifically interested in paths on a mountain (or hill), with a summit height of over 600m. The focus of the campaign is on mountains that are situated on private land and therefore have no access to government funds.
As hill-goers, we are fortunate to have the free right of access to all the mountains and hills that Scotland has to offer. But how often do we stop to think about the physical impact we have on the mountain landscapes that we love?
It's Up to Us has raised over £300,000 through public donations and support from mountaineering clubs, sponsors and corporate donations to fund the repair of the badly eroded path on An Teallach, one of the most iconic mountains in Scotland, and a prime example of a popular mountain path on privately owned land where no other funding is currently available. Now we're looking for our next project.

With more people than ever getting out to enjoy Scotland’s mountains, along with the effects of extreme weather and climate change, upland paths are deteriorating fast. And with no public funding available for upland path restoration and maintenance, it's up to us, the hillwalkers, mountaineers, outdoor enthusiasts, businesses and organisations who care about Scotland’s hills to give back to the mountains we all enjoy.
